Renowned as a romantic island escape, Brampton Island also offers plenty of fun and adventure. With more than 50 species of birds, each morning you will be greeted by the melodic sounds of these colourful creates calling to each other.

Located at the foot of the Whitsunday Island Passage off the coast of Mackay, Brampton Island is categorised as a National Park and is home to 12 stunning beaches, seven of which are easily accessed via walking tracks. Just off the shores of Brampton Island you’ll find a diverse array of fringing reefs home to a spectacular range of colourful corals and tropical marine life. The most popular way to explore the crystal waters and natural wonders of the Great Barrier Reef is with a diving and snorkelling adventure.

With such an amazing natural environment, Brampton Island’s most popular activities and attractions revolve around enjoying the landscape including water sports, snorkelling, diving, hiking, sailing a catamaran or simply relaxing on the beach. There are over 17 km of walking tracks throughout the island and these offer an intimate way to spot some of the local wildlife. There are also campsites located on the island however these require a permit to use.

Unlike most Queensland tropical islands, Brampton’s unique ecosystem means that it is one of the few in the Whitsundays where you can even go snorkelling straight off the beach. It also enjoys a relaxed, allowing you to enjoy the exclusive escapism of Brampton Island all to yourself.
